CCDT works with marginalized communities of Mumbai and its suburbs in the field of health and education with a special focus on children impacted by HIV/AIDS.

At present, we have 225 personnel working in its Head office, four Crisis Intervention Centers (CICs) and 16 field offices all over Mumbai and its suburbs. We have some of the finest professionals on board in the field of social development in general and Health in particular is concerned. 60% of our staff is from the communities we work in.

Job Title: Project Officer, Urban Nutrition Initiative

Location: Mumbai

About the program: The Urban Nutrition Initiative (UNI) is a programme which focuses on reducing malnutrition by reaching out to children in the age group of 0-2 years, pregnant women and lactating mothers. It is a Public Private Partnership between Rajmata Jijau Mother and Child Health and Nutrition Mission, TATA Trust and Committed Communities Development Trust (CCDT) partnering with other field NGOs working in the area of Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition. 

Position brief: The Project Officer will be responsible for the overall management and functioning of the Health and Nutrition project.  He/ She will be responsible for supervising and guiding the project staff to translate the strategic vision of the organization into grass root action. The candidate must have technical understanding of “Under Nutrition” and in particular C-MAM.   He/ She must be able to plan, implement and monitor the project to reduce ‘Under Nutrition’ under the guidance of Sr. Program Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the Urban Malnutrition project effectively to achieve overall objective of the program.
  • Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of project.
  • Prepare monthly reports, budget proposals, Annual Work Plan, and statistical data related to the project.
  • Monitor project activities vis-à-vis planned for the month
  • Support the team under them to facilitate close co-ordination between ICDS and health services with the community in order to ensure that they access these services programmes to spread nutrition awareness for children
  • Develop and strengthen linkages and partnership with ICDS, NGOs, community health organizations and health posts in order to Implement and monitor the Urban Nutrition Initiative.
  • Lead, guide and mentor the team and keep them motivated
  • Identify training needs of the team and in accordance, plan and conduct training sessions on a regular basis. 
  • Assess the outcome of the training and work on the shortcomings.
  • Arrange for training sessions to concerned staff on counseling and child caring practices
  • Conduct Nutrition Education, for mothers, pregnant and lactating mothers, facilitate mothers groups.
  • Trouble-shoot and manage day to day operational issues of the project.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Sr. Program Officer to support the effectiveness of the project and the program.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

  • Masters in Nutrition & Food Service Management with 3-4 years of relevant work experience in Project management and implementation
  • In depth understanding of child health and nutrition
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills
  • Ability to monitor, supervise and keep the team motivated

Location: Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali

About the program:  Sahyog is a consortium program which aims to ensure in improving the health of pregnant women, lactating mothers, children and adolescents residing in the Mumbai suburban part of Sanjay Gandhi National Park through child centred community development approach.

Position Brief:  The Project Officer will be responsible for the overall management and functioning of the project engaging with underprivileged tribal particularly pregnant and lactating women, children and adolescents living in Sanjay Gandhi National Park.  He/ She will be responsible for supervising and guiding the project staff to translate the strategic vision of the organization into grass root action. The candidate must have technical understanding of mother, child and adolescent health.   He/ She must be able to plan, implement and monitor the project under the guidance of Sr. Program Officer and Associate Director.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure project implementation and execution as per the annual operational plan.
  • Delegate specific responsibilities and tasks to appropriate team members.
  • Monitor project activities vis-à-vis planned for the month
  • Supervise and guide project staff to ensure smooth implementation of project
  • Establish networks and linkages with key stakeholders. Build rapport and partnership with local CBOS, NGOs, government agencies and service providers in the fields of health and nutrition.
  • Monitor project progress, financial and physical, regularly against the annual project plan.
  • Evaluate project performance and performance of individual team members against deliverables. Identify and resolve bottlenecks. Take corrective action.
  • Lead, guide and mentor the team and keep them motivated.
  • Identify training needs of the team and in accordance, plan and conduct training sessions on a regular basis. 
  • Assess the outcome of the training and work on the shortcomings.
  • Timely prepare and submit monthly reports, budget proposals, Annual Work Plan, and statistical data related to the project.
  • Trouble-shoot and manage day to day operational issues of the project.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Sr. Program Officer to support the effectiveness of the project and the program.
  • Participate in and contribute to organizational programs and events.
  • Represent organization on various platforms in due consultation with Senior Program Team.

Job Title: Documentation and MIS Officer, Shubh Aarambh

Location: Mumbai

Position Brief:  To facilitate processes and be responsible for documentation and preparation of reports for the project.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall MIS and documentation processes and activities of the project
  • Develop MIS formats, enter data, analyse and provide inputs on regular basis
  • Prepare, compile and verify the documentation and reports of all activities across two units
  • Coordinate with all concerned to ensure data, and information is captured in the reports
  • Develop presentations, documents, reports related to the project as and when required
  • Attend key events and prepare draft documentation for preparing monthly report
  • Maintain and regular update of all records of the project
  • Develop an index and filing process for easy access of data and reports

Required skills and competencies:

  • Plan, Conduct and Coordinate activities (Group interactions, awareness programs, capacity building sessions, orientation visits etc) with children's groups, youth groups and women's groups in the community on various topics related to health, education and vulnerability.   
  • Conduct community visits and home visits independently and also jointly with the Community Organizers to community members particularly women and adolescents.
  • Support and guide Community Organizers during interventions.  
  • Develop rapport and work closely with service delivery points in Health, and Education e.g. schools, Health Posts, Clinic, Hospitals, Maternity Homes, Clinic, Schools, Forest Dept. etc.
  • Develop linkages with government hospitals,NGOs, CBOs, networks for referral and networking
  • Attend assigned meetings, programs and events organized by other organizations.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

Job title: Community Organizer (Urban Nutrition Initiative)

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Work under the guidance of the Project Officer 

  • Coordinate with Project Officers for implementation of various activities 

  • Attending training programs organized by the program

  • Conduct community visits and home visits on daily basis. 

  • Conduct group sessions with mothers of malnourished children, pregnant and lactating mothers on issues related to health and nutrition.

  • Identify children under 6 years of age, pregnant woman, lactating mother and Adolescent girls

  • Plan and support the intervention on case to case basis along with the Project Officers.

  • Identify the malnourished children and link them with ICDS services, Health Post, NRRC and Municipal hospitals.

  • Data Collection of anthropometric details from ICDS

  • To form mothers’ support groups in the community

  • To support the Project Officer in planning events and campaigning for community.

  • Maintain daily diary and monthly reporting

  • Build linkages with the stakeholders

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

  • Para professional course in social work

  • Min. one year of community work experience 

  • Willing to work in community

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

  • Should hold a Masters Degree in Social work.

  • Should be fluent in local language - Marathi/ Hindi
