Childline ‘1098’is a national 24 hours free, phone emergency outreach service for children in need of care and protection. A national partnership between Childline and CCDT began in February 2008.

Since then, CCDT Childline has conducted varied activities in addition to outreach in the community, rescue operations, follow-up of children, awareness programs, sensitization of allied system and networking.

Our area of intervention stretches from Kandivali to Bhayander and as far as Dahanu. We work with children from the age group of 0-18 years.

"In the year 2011-12, the project has reached out to 398 children who were in need of care and protection. In the last 6 months alone, 203 cases were investigated, 138 children were rescued who are under regular follow-up."

Rescuing children in crisis is important, yet, not the sole focus of CCDT Childline. Initiating mass awareness campaigns on Child Sexual Abuse and related issues on Child Rights violations, enlisting children’s participation as volunteers and facilitating open house discussions in the community- are critical aspects of our work.
