Shubh Aarambh Program is a national consortium between Save the Children and Magic Bus India Foundation supported by Mondelez International. CCDT is the implementing partner of this consortium in Mumbai.
The program has three main pillars:
· Nutrition Education
· Growing Fresh Foods
· Active Play
This program engages with children between 0 to 18 years, mothers, adolescent and youth, and other important stakeholders e.g. ICDS and health post. The targeted communities are from Wadala in Mumbai and Yeoor in Thane. Along with Maharashtra, the program is being implemented in Tamilnadu, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
The activities that CCDT team have been conducting include, household survey, community mapping, training on Active Play (component by Magic Bus) identification of Community Youth Leaders (CYL), sports sessions with parents and children, and developing linkages with various stakeholders to partner, for the program. The team has identified more than 100 Community Youth Leaders and oriented them to Active Play and role of CYLs. Groups of mothers, adolescents and children have been formed to ensure continuity of the activities.
CCDT team is increasing its activities in having more of the children, youth & families enrolling & being part of this program
