What does CCDT stand for?

CCDT is an Indian NGO – a voluntary, secular Trust registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act of 1950.

CCDT stands for Committed Communities Development Trust.

What is Ashray? And how is it related to CCDT.

What is one of CCDT’s residential care center which is a home to children infected/affected by HIV/AIDs. It is a one of a kind shelter home, where girls and boys are cared for up to the age of 12 years.

Is Ashray an open shelter?

Yes! CCDT also run another Child Protection Program with Childline India Foundation (1098). As CCDT actively rescues runaway, trafficked, abducted children, these children are temporarily homed at Ashray till they presented to the CWC and / or re-integrated back to their respective homes. This process could take up to 3 months.

How are normal and HIV children homed together?

CCDT is the only center which has proved that children that both normal and HIV children can be home together under one roof to lead happy and healthy lives and also without transferring the infection to one another if the basic precautions are adhered to.

Are CCDT employees paid for their work?

The full-time employees are given regular salaries. We believe that this is important to attract the professional talent we need to manage our activities (and your resources) effectively. It is important to note, however, that CCDT salaries are modest and very in comparison with commercial organizations.

In that case, how does CCDT raise resources?

CCDT raises the valuable resources we need for our work through:

  • Individuals
  • Corporate and institutional donations

We also have long term philanthropic partners, funding organizations who we apply to for grants by writing elaborate proposals and individuals who walk into our centers who support us by donating in monetary terms as well as in kind.

How can we get involved with CCDT?

Can we Donate in kind to CCDT?
