During these challenging times of COVID- 19, we are all navigating through uncertainties for us and for our communities. We are grateful to our frontline workers who continue to work closely with the most marginalized and vulnerable children and families, protecting them from hunger, malnutrition, abuse and exploitation. We are also supporting government initiatives by providing emergency supplies and medical equipment.

Whilst doing so we continue to hold our ground. Not only have we strengthened our current interventions but also entered into new partnerships for three projects during the month in our endeavor to create “A world where every child counts; A world of children living in dignity.

We are truly thankful to Childline India Foundation, Cognizant Foundation, and Freight Systems Pvt. Ltd. for partnering with CCDT in creating a better tomorrow for our children, youth and mothers.

Ensuring Safe Childhoods

In partnership with Childline India Foundation CCDT has expanded the National Emergency Helpline-1098 to Palghar district. CCDT is already operating Childline in the suburbs of Mumbai (Dahisar to Andheri) and at the Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. With Palghar Childline CCDT will reach and address all cases of vulnerable children in all eight talukas of Palghar district namely, Vasai, Palghar, Dahanu Talasari, Jawhar, Mokhada, Wada and Vikramgad.

The initiation of 24-hours free Child helpline at Palghar will protect children up to 18 years from exploitation and abuse. It will safeguard the rights of vulnerable children through Rescue, Restoration, Rehabilitation, and Reintegration of these children.

A Healthy Start To Every Child!

In our pursuit to improve maternal and child survival, growth and development we have partnered with the Cognizant Foundation in Bhiwandi and Malegaon Municipal Corporations of Maharashtra.

Over a period of five years, we plan to reduce maternal and infant morbidity and mortality and improve the health-seeking behavior of more than 81,000 pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children up to 2 years of age. The Projects will empower and connect the community to access Government health and nutrition services while advocating with the Government to provide quality services.

Skilling Our Youth!

CCDT initiated Youth Empowerment Program with support of Freight Systems Pvt. Ltd. to economically empower 80 marginalized youth. Young girls and boys in the age group of 18 to 29 years living in disadvantaged communities of Mumbai will receive skills training, made job-ready, and support to secure a job.

Under the Program, we launched India’s first Online Digital Marketing Course- a full-fledged 45-day course for youth for free.  With our knowledge partner S-Tek (an IT division of Speakwell Skills Academy Pvt. Ltd.) we aim to chart better career paths for these 46 young girls and boys enrolled in the course.
